At PRONIC, every project begins with a specific industrial challenge.
Camaco, an automotive supplier specializing in the manufacturing of metal seat structures, sought to integrate tapping at its Brazilian facility directly into its stamping process, without adding any additional operations to the line.
From the very first contact to the start of mass production on-site: 36 weeks for a project carried out across France, China, and Brazil
Camaco seeks to implement technologies that will improve its production processes for stamped components intended for major automakers.
In this context, the implementation of a tapping system directly integrated into the stamping process was considered, with the goal of increasing productivity, repeatability, and product quality.
The main challenge was to integrate an innovative, technologically advanced, compact, robust, and efficient solution capable of ensuring quality and reliability in the process, while eliminating an additional manufacturing step and providing a competitive advantage for new projects.
Until then, the company had been performing its tapping operations in a separate step, after stamping.
PRONIC designed a custom electromechanical (servomotor) tapping solution developed specifically for this project.

Tooling production with local technical support from PRONIC
Followed by integration and commissioning of the Pronic equipment at Camaco’s Brazilian site, with Pronic providing training for the operator and maintenance teams.

The decision was based on five key criteria:
A proven track record in similar applications within the global automotive industry.
A solution tailored to the space constraints of the tooling.
Seamless coordination among the technical teams in the three countries involved.
End-to-end support, from engineering to on-site training.
Consistent production rates
We are very satisfied with the result. Thanks to the implemented solution, the stamped part already comes out with the threading as specified on the drawing, which eliminates an additional step in the manufacturing process. The solution has fully met our expectations in terms of productivity and quality.
This product line (TK and ST) was chosen because it offers the best balance between performance and integration into our process, given the space constraints related to tooling, while meeting requirements for production rate and operational robustness.
The PRONIC France teams will be on vacation
from 10 through 14 July, inclusive.
All requests received during this period will be processed as soon as we resume operations on July 17.
