Pronic on a quest to conquer the Chinese market

Last June, the world specialist in tapping and insertion in-die solutions (equipment components), based in Marignier in the French Alps, took part in the major trade fair for stamping equipment – the Die & Mould China international exhibition, held in Shanghai. A unique experience, and one which led Pronic to confirm that it is going to have a presence in China for the foreseeable future.

"It presented us with the opportunity to generate sales leads and to build relationships (more than 50 high-quality meetings) but also to get a feel for the market and for market trends", said Thierry Rosa, the General Manager of Pronic. For the first time, the company had a stand in its own name, at the famous Die & Mould international exhibition in Shanghai. An unmissable exhibition in the die and mould world, which strengthened Pronic's will to invest more and more in China. It is the country of bigger, better, longer – due to its thousand-year culture, its huge population, its economic vigour and its industrial tissue. China is the world leader in manufacturing – in the automotive sector, and as regards electrical products and white goods, amongst other sectors – and it is attracting figurative envious glances from all manufacturers and thus from their very many suppliers, be the latter tier 1 suppliers, tier 2 suppliers, and so on and so forth.

The company Pronic has had a presence in Asia for the past 25 years or so, through distributors. A strategy which enabled it to keep tabs, not only on its European and North American customers, but also on its local Chinese ones. In order to establish its presence in China to a greater degree, Pronic has set up shop in Shanghai, the most dynamic city and area in the country.

Since 2014 it has had its own office there, in order to support and to help its current and future customers as closely as possible. "In Shanghai, Debo Qi, our China Sales Development Manager, is responsible for and has the assignment of working hand-in-hand with and of assisting our distributors and our customers and of developing the market. He brings to the table all his experience of running a network, his understanding of Chinese habits and customs and his experience of sales in a manufacturing environment", says Thierry Rosa. Pronic can thus throw its full weight behind its efforts to conquer this vital market. The firm is already planning its stand for the next (the 2017) edition of the Die & Mould exhibition...
