Pronic SAS

Global leader in tapping

It might be the exceptional location right at the foot of Mont Blanc, Europe’s highest mountain, or long years of experience and craftsmanship in in-die tapping or just the conviction that it is better than the rest of the industry that have catapulted PRONIC SA to the top of the world market. Today, the company with its 50 employees is the world leader in in-die tapping, offering a robust technology to customers in the automotive, electrical and construction sectors.

A tapping unit is a highly effective thread forming device that allows to combine stamping and tapping in one tool in order to avoid the need for secondary tapping operations and thereby guarantying quality and reducing costs. The technology is most suitable for progressive dies, transfer dies, fine blanking dies, multi-press applications as well as stand-alone machinery. “Due to our profound insight into in-die tooling environments, we have been concentrating on the design and manufacture of in-die insertion and in-die tapping. Our commitment to these technologies has paid off, as today we have become a benchmark in the global market.” Every day, PRONIC works hard to develop and manufacture even the most complex in-die tapping units for the global market.

Exports to over 40 countries in Europe and beyond, a reference list that reads like a Who-is-Who of the automotive and electronics sectors, including the likes of Opel, Mercedes Benz, PSA Group as well as Siemens, BSH and Schneider, to name a few, and new product developments have helped to pave the way to long-standing success.

The company is located in Marignier in close vicinity to the legendary Mont Blanc. “Some say that the daily view of the massive mountain range is a challenge for people living nearby to reach great heights – not just geographically but also in their working life,” states Mr. Terrier. PRONIC opened its first office in Detroit in 2002. In July 2014 the first office in Shanghai started operation. “Our customers are out there in the world, with our experts developing customized solutions in in-die tapping or insertion to meet the demands of various industries,”. PRONIC’s development is closely linked with its desire to simplify the relationship between worker and machine.

The company has introduced a unique control interface for all tapping and in-die insertion operations, bringing new visualization and optimization time to the man on the workfloor. “We are always creating new solutions. Now, we have introduced a cooperation platform called MyPronic.net for data management, which will support our customers’ daily operations,” points out Mr. Terrier. “Innovation will stay with us. Our new cartridge / spindle technology with automatic set up function, for instance, is another example for in-die tapping results.”
