These platforms (chassis, seat, etc.) make it possible to produce several different vehicles on an identical technical basis and to assemble them in several countries at more affordable prices, while maintaining a specific identity and a sufficient margin.
Although the design of platforms is generally centralized, their manufacturing requires multiple locations in order to rationalize logistics and respond to the local market.
