From theory to reality

Some time ago, we shared with you the benefits of using guide bushings in the manufacturing process of automotive seats.

Today, we turn our attention to a concrete customer case that perfectly illustrates our know-how in In-Die insertion in this demanding sector for over 10 years.

Customer context: North American automotive seating equipment supplier A major seating supplier entrusted us with the production of two customized insertion systems for its structural parts, with two types of fasteners:

- Ø14 mm guide bushings
- M10 nuts

These components are essential for ensuring the strength, durability and quiet running of seat assemblies, as well as their precision.

Our deployed solutions:
  BUSHING INSERTION NUT INSERTION
Fasteners Inserts Bagues Inserts Écrous
Parts Pièces bague Pièces écrou
System Ø14 bushing insertion with 1 trolley with 2 outlets

For 2 different parts, each with 1 bushing in their respective tool;

2 parts at the press stroke;

And a total of 4 insertion heads
M10 nut insertion with 1 trolley with 3 outlets

For 3 different parts, each with 2 nuts and a total of 2 tools;

1 part per press stroke

And a total of 5 insertion heads

Comprehensive support in line with industrial constraints • Validated orders: August 2024 and January 2025
• Planned completion of studies: September 2024 and March 2025
• Delivery: July 2025 for both projects
• Planned start-up: production site in North-America in summer 2025

To enable the customer to take delivery of the tools, we also delivered the tool kits upstream to the Asian toolmaker, enabling him to validate the insertion positions and operation before the tool was delivered to his production site.

The result: collaborative work with all the parties involved throughout the project, guaranteeing plug & play commissioning.
